Photos from a spell I just completed. Yes, that’s a bullet (.40 caliber Winchester if you were wondering, lol). I made it into a talisman for my husband who is struggling with ADD and needs some sharpness of focus. I’ll post the spell next so that the bullet makes a little more sense. :)
Spell: Empowering Wisdom
This is a spell I have just written for myself to empower a necklace for wisdom (something I definitely need more of). I’ll post pictures of the altar after I set up.
Timing:Day or night (your preference), while in an air sign (like Gemini)
Spiritual Helpers:
- The Lord and Lady
- All four quarters (I suggest frankencense or cinnamon incense for air if you are invoking Michael)
- Athena (if done in Gemini when she’s strongest)
- the archangel Michael (if so inclined)
- ancestors if you wish (I am sticking with just Athena and Michael in addition to the God and Goddess as they are quite strong)
Supplies:
- Item to be empowered
- salt (iodized, kosher, or sea, your choice)
- one cinnamon stick, broken in half
- lavender (dry)
- rose petals (can be small; dry)
- sage (dry leaves or ground/rubbed)
- rosemary (dry)
- Small bowl (for mixing herbs)
- 1 sheet of blue paper
- yellow pencil/marker/writing implement
- 1 white pillar candle (for Michael)
- Navy blue cord or ribbon (for Michael)
- 1 purple candle (or some other wisdom-associated color, for Athena)
- 5 tea-lites
- mortar and pestle
- wand/athame/stang (any depending on your preference)
The Work:
- Cleanse and ground yourself (a shower or bath and/or meditation is a good idea)
- Clear and consecrate your sacred space; cleanse all items
- Cast circle (I recommend walking three times minimum - you are invoking powerful beings!)
- Call Quarters, starting with the East (air)
- Invite God/des
- Invite Athena with purple candle - ask her to bestow wisdom on your work
- (if invoking Michael) Tie the navy cord or ribbon around the white pillar candle, repeating Archangel Michael, I call upon you, I invite your cleansing presence into my circle(or something along those lines- just be clear that you’re looking for the cleansing and negativity-dispelling powers of Michael, not the flaming sword demon-slaying powers). Light the candle.
- Draw an invoking pentacle on the blue paper (large, but leave enough room on it for the salt circle)
- Place your talisman in the middle of the pentacle
- Grind your herbs individually, focusing on dispelling negativity, inviting wisdom, clarity, and peace; when one is ground, pour it into the bowl
- Place a circle of salt on the paper around the pentacle (go widdershins to banish negativity and cloudy judgement)
- Light each tea lit and place at the points of the pentacle
- Mix your ground herbs in the bowl with your wand (or other tool)
- Visualize your purpose (the talisman should appear bathed in clean, bright, yellow light)
- Allow the five tea-lites to burn down, continuing to meditate on your purpose.
- Remove burnt-out tealites and run your wand through the circle of salt, willing it to release its energy into the talisman. If it is for you, put it on now while Michael and/or Athena are still with you. Feel your connection to them.
- Carefully remove the talisman from the paper, gently shaking loose the herbs
- Thank your helpers and release in reverse order that you invoked them
- Open your circle
- Scatter herbs and salt off your property. You may burn the paper or simply throw it away (or bury it if you’re so inclined)
